Director, Early Stage BD


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for identifying and organizing face-to-face meetings with potential and existing clients to promote and engage LTRI’s services at their home base, conventions, or during site visits to LTRI’s facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates within approved departmental and personal expense budget.
  • Seeks out new markets to support BA/BE, Phase 1 clinical and bioanalytical expansion within generic and innovator pharma business
  • Represents Company at industry trade shows and meetings
  • Achieves sales budgeted for the early stage clinical respecting the service line between clinical, bioanalytical laboratory and scientific affairs.
  • Prepares an annual business plan for approval by the VP, including recommendations for target clients, pricing and potential new markets
  • Represents the knowledge point for the Division for market, and competitive intelligence.
  • Implements the Division’s strategy for developing and maintaining a strong corporate image within the customer base.
  • Liaises with the VP of Global Marketing and Sales with regards to compiling of customer quotations, implementation of overall early stage business plan
  • Manages the final quotation and contract preparation for new business prior to approval by Finance and VP.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • B.Sc., M.Sc., preferred in the Life Sciences, MBA an asset.


Previous Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry including sales and marketing experience, preferably within a Early Stage Contract Research Organization

 

Communication:

  • Position requires excellent interpersonal and management skills; and highly polished written, verbal and presentation skills.


Complexity:

  • Ability to negotiate business agreements and appreciation of business customs are required. Advanced use of PowerPoint, Salesforce.com, Excel and Word programs.


Scope of Responsibility:

  • Travel is required for client contact for 50-70% of the time.
